The FURq Pet of the Year Awards.

Every pet has a story. Most have never been told.

Once a year we go looking for the ones that should be. They arrive from everywhere — a clinic waiting room, the back of a rescue van, a kitchen floor at two in the morning. Anyone can send one. It does not need to be written well. It needs to be true.

Every nomination is read by our editors. Selected stories are published through the year in FURq, and the year's strongest are elevated into our annual print collection.

What we're looking for

• A rescue or reunion story
• A miracle recovery
• A senior hero
• A pet who was loved beautifully until the end
• A pet who changed a life

And if none of those quite fit — send it anyway. Some of the best ones don't.
